PrayerFocus — Privacy Policy
PrayerFocus is a prayer-times and focus app for Android. This page explains what information the app handles and how. In short: PrayerFocus does not run a server, does not require an account, and does not track you. Almost everything the app does happens entirely on your device.
Location
If you choose GPS-based location, PrayerFocus requests a one-time location fix from your device to calculate accurate prayer times for where you are. You can also skip GPS entirely and pick a city manually instead.
Your location is used only to calculate prayer times on your own device. It is never transmitted to us or to any server — PrayerFocus has no backend and makes no network requests for this purpose. It is stored locally on your device and is removed if you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Settings and preferences
Your chosen calculation method, notification preferences, focus-session settings, theme, and similar preferences are stored locally on your device only, using Android's standard local storage. Nothing is synced to any cloud service, because PrayerFocus doesn't have one.
Notifications and alarms
PrayerFocus schedules on-device alarms to notify you at prayer times and, optionally, to silence other notifications during a focus session. This scheduling happens entirely on your device and involves no data leaving it.
Advertising
PrayerFocus has no banner or interstitial ads anywhere in the app. The only ad is a single, optional, rewarded ad behind one button — "Support the Developer" — in Settings. It only plays if you deliberately tap that button; nothing in the app is ever locked behind it.
That one ad is served using Google AdMob. When you choose to watch it, Google's AdMob SDK may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure that ad, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. This only happens if you tap the rewarded-ad button — it plays no role anywhere else in the app.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-in of any kind
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
- No cloud sync or backend server
- No selling or sharing of personal data, beyond the AdMob usage described above
Data deletion
Since everything is stored locally, clearing PrayerFocus's app data or uninstalling the app immediately and completely removes all information the app held.
Children's privacy
PrayerFocus is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same page with a revised effective date.
